Who it is for
- Adults who need daytime relief of cold and flu symptoms and want to stay alert
- People with a blocked nose alongside a headache, fever or aches
- People who prefer a non-drowsy tablet during the day
- People who want a single tablet combining a painkiller and a decongestant
Not suitable for: anyone allergic to the ingredients; people with heart disease, high blood pressure, an overactive thyroid, diabetes or glaucoma; and anyone taking, or who has taken within the last 14 days, MAOI antidepressants. Do not take with any other paracetamol-containing or decongestant product. As a pharmacy medicine, the pharmacist may ask a few questions to confirm it is suitable. Speak to your pharmacist first if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or taking other medicines.
How to use
- Read the patient information leaflet inside the pack before you start.
- Follow the dose on the pack: adults take the stated number of tablets per dose with water.
- Leave the stated interval between doses and do not exceed the maximum number of tablets in 24 hours.
- Because it contains a decongestant, take the last dose well before bedtime.
- If symptoms last more than a few days or get worse, speak to your pharmacist or doctor.
Frequently asked questions
Does Day Nurse make you drowsy?
No. Day Nurse is formulated for non-drowsy daytime use. For night-time symptoms that disturb sleep, a separate night-time product is more suitable.
Can I take Day Nurse with paracetamol?
No. Day Nurse contains paracetamol, so you must not take it with any other paracetamol-containing product. Taking more than one paracetamol product at once risks a serious overdose.
Can I take Day Nurse if I have high blood pressure?
Not without checking first. The pseudoephedrine decongestant can raise blood pressure, so it is not suitable if you have heart disease, high blood pressure or an overactive thyroid unless a pharmacist or doctor has advised you it is safe.
Can I take Day Nurse and Night Nurse on the same day?
Both contain paracetamol, so do not double up. If you use a daytime product and a night-time product together, count all paracetamol doses and never exceed the daily limit. Follow the leaflet, and ask your pharmacist if unsure.

- If symptoms persist for more than a few days or get worse, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
