Who is Dymista suitable for?
Dymista is intended for:
- Adults and adolescents 12 years and older
- Individuals diagnosed with seasonal allergic rhinitis (e.g. hay fever) or year-round allergies
- Patients whose symptoms are not adequately controlled by antihistamines or intranasal corticosteroids alone
Who should NOT use Dymista?
- Avoid using Dymista if you:
- Are allergic to azelastine, fluticasone, or any other ingredients in the spray
- Are under 12 years old
- Are currently experiencing an untreated infection in the nose or sinuses
- Have recently undergone nasal surgery or trauma without medical clearance
- Are pregnant or breastfeeding, unless recommended by your doctor
Please consult your pharmacist or doctor before use if you are taking any other steroid treatments or immunosuppressants.
Directions for Use:
- Shake well before each use
- Blow your nose gently to clear the nasal passages
- Administer 1 spray into each nostril twice daily (morning and evening)
Do not exceed the recommended dose. If you miss a dose, use it as soon as you remember, unless it’s nearly time for your next scheduled dose.
How Dymista Works:
Dymista combines the fast-acting antihistamine azelastine (to block allergic triggers) with the anti-inflammatory power of fluticasone (to reduce nasal swelling and mucus production). This dual-action formula helps relieve symptoms within 30 minutes, with continued improvement over several days of consistent use.
Precautions & Warnings:
- For nasal use only
- Avoid spraying directly onto the nasal septum (the centre wall of the nose)
- If symptoms do not improve within 7 days, or if they worsen, consult a healthcare provider
- Long-term use may require medical monitoring
Possible Side Effects:
Most users tolerate Dymista well, but common side effects may include:
- Nasal irritation or dryness
- Headache
- Bitter taste or mild nosebleeds
- Drowsiness (from azelastine)
Rare side effects include vision changes, severe nosebleeds, or signs of infection (e.g. fever or persistent nasal discharge). Seek medical attention if you experience any severe or unusual symptoms.
Storage Instructions:
Store upright below 25°C. Do not freeze. Keep the bottle tightly closed when not in use.
Keep out of reach and sight of children.
