Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between Gaviscon Advance and standard Gaviscon?

Gaviscon Advance is a concentrated formula that forms a stronger, more robust alginate raft. The raft floats on the stomach contents and helps keep acid away from the lining of the food pipe.

How long can I take Gaviscon Advance?

It is for short-term relief of heartburn and reflux. If symptoms continue for more than 7 days, speak to your doctor or pharmacist so the cause can be assessed.

How fast does Gaviscon Advance work?

The raft forms quickly after a dose, so relief is usually felt soon after taking it. Take it after meals and at bedtime, when reflux is most likely.

Can I take Gaviscon Advance in pregnancy?

Heartburn is common during pregnancy. If you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding, speak to your pharmacist or doctor before use to confirm it is suitable.

Does Gaviscon Advance need to be refrigerated?

No. Store the bottle below 25°C and do not refrigerate it. Keep it in the original container and out of the sight and reach of children.
