Adults and children aged 12 and over travelling to tropical or high-risk areas for malaria, dengue or other insect-borne diseases.
Anyone who needs a higher-strength DEET repellent rather than a family or low-DEET formula.

Not suitable for: Children under 12 years. Do not spray directly onto the face. Do not use near a naked flame or other ignition source. Ask a pharmacist before use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you have sensitive or broken skin.

How to use

Read the label and instructions on the can before use.
Spray onto exposed skin from a short distance. Do not spray directly onto the face; avoid the eyes and mouth.
Reapply as directed on the pack. Protection time is shorter in high heat, humidity and when sweating.
Wash treated skin with soap and water once you are back indoors.
In high-risk areas, use alongside other bite precautions such as covering up at dusk and sleeping under a treated net.

Frequently asked questions

How much DEET does it contain?

Jungle Formula Extra Strong contains 50% DEET, a higher-strength repellent intended for high-risk areas.

Can children use it?

It is for adults and children aged 12 and over only. Ask a pharmacist about a lower-strength or family formula for younger children.

How long does one application last?

This depends on conditions: heat, humidity and sweating all shorten protection. Follow the reapplication guidance on the can.

Can I use it with sunscreen?

Apply sunscreen first and let it dry, then apply the repellent on top. Ask a pharmacist if you are unsure.

Is it flammable?

Yes. It is an extremely flammable aerosol. Do not spray near a flame, cigarette or heat source, and do not pierce or burn the can.

Safety and storage

Extremely flammable aerosol. Pressurised container: may burst if heated. Do not spray on a naked flame or other ignition source.
Causes skin and eye irritation. If it gets into the eyes, rinse thoroughly with water. Harmful to aquatic life.
Store in the original container away from heat, in a place not exceeding 50°C. Do not pierce or burn the can, even after use.
Keep out of the sight and reach of children.

Always follow the instructions supplied with the product. Insect repellents reduce but do not remove the risk of bites; in malaria areas also take antimalarial advice before you travel.
