Frequently asked questions
Is Piriteze non-drowsy?
Piriteze contains cetirizine, a second-generation antihistamine that is much less sedating than older types and is usually described as non-drowsy. A small number of people still feel sleepy on it, so check how it affects you before driving.
What is the active ingredient in Piriteze?
Each Piriteze Allergy tablet contains 10mg of cetirizine hydrochloride, the same active ingredient as generic cetirizine. Piriteze is the branded version.
What allergies does Piriteze help with?
Piriteze relieves the symptoms of hay fever and allergies to pets, house dust mites and mould, as well as skin allergies such as hives.
How often can I take Piriteze?
Adults and children aged 12 and over take one tablet once a day. Children aged 6 to 12 take half a tablet twice a day. Do not exceed the stated dose.
Can I drink alcohol while taking Piriteze?
It is best to avoid alcohol while taking cetirizine, as it can increase the chance of drowsiness. If you feel drowsy, do not drive or operate machinery.
