Frequently asked questions
How do Murine Hayfever eye drops work?
They contain sodium cromoglicate, a mast cell stabiliser that reduces the eyes' allergic response to pollen. They work best with regular use during the treatment period rather than as a one-off dose.
How quickly do Murine Hayfever drops work?
Sodium cromoglicate works gradually because it prevents allergic reactions rather than reversing them instantly. If there is no improvement after 2 days, speak to your pharmacist or doctor.
Can I use Murine Hayfever drops with contact lenses?
Do not use the drops while wearing soft contact lenses. Speak to your pharmacist about timing if you wear lenses regularly.
Can children use Murine Hayfever eye drops?
They are for adults and children aged 6 and over. For younger children, speak to your pharmacist or doctor before use.
How long can I use Murine Hayfever eye drops for?
Use them through the pollen season, but if you need them for more than 14 days, seek medical advice. Discard the bottle 28 days after first opening.
