Sandoz Permethrin 5% w/w Cream is a pharmacy medicine for the treatment of scabies in adults and children aged 2 months and over. This 30g tube is for cutaneous use only.

How to Use

Use exactly as directed in the enclosed patient information leaflet or by your pharmacist. Apply to clean, dry, cool skin. For adults, apply a thin layer over the whole body, including the neck, palms and soles, paying particular attention between fingers and toes, under nails, wrists, armpits, external genitalia, breasts and buttocks. Wash off thoroughly after 8–12 hours. Reapply to hands if washed during this period. Children under 2 years must be treated under close medical supervision.

Warnings & Storage

• For external use only. Do not swallow.
• Avoid contact with eyes, mucous membranes, broken skin and open wounds.
• Keep away from naked flames; clothing, dressings and bedding that contact the cream can ignite easily.
• Do not use if allergic to permethrin, pyrethrins, pyrethroids or any ingredient.
• Speak to a pharmacist or doctor if pregnant, breastfeeding, treating a child under 2 years, or if symptoms persist.
• Keep out of the sight and reach of children. Do not store above 25°C. Do not freeze.

FAQ

Can itching continue after treatment?
Yes. Itching may continue for up to 4 weeks and does not necessarily mean treatment has failed.

Can the treatment be repeated?
If new lesions appear or the original lesions are not healing, a second application may be made no sooner than 7 days after the first. Ask a pharmacist if unsure.
