Type: Inactivated Trivalent Influenza Vaccine (TIVe)
Dose: Single 0.5 ml injection for the 2025/26 season
Administration: Intramuscular (upper arm, deltoid muscle). Subcutaneous injection possible if bleeding disorder applies.
Can be given together with other vaccines such as COVID-19 or HPV vaccines.
Onset of protection: Usually 2–3 weeks after vaccination
Best protection: Annual vaccination helps protect against the latest circulating flu strains.
Protect yourself & others: Reduces your risk of infection and prevents spreading flu to family, friends, and colleagues.
Maternal protection: Pregnant women are strongly advised to vaccinate to protect both mother and baby.
Like all medicines, flu vaccines may cause mild side effects, which usually resolve within 1–2 days:
Redness, soreness or swelling at the injection site
Low-grade fever, chills, or feeling unwell
Headache, tiredness, or dizziness
Muscle or joint pain
In rare cases, allergic reactions may occur. Our pharmacists are fully trained in recognising and managing anaphylaxis, and emergency care is always available on-site.
