Clarinaze is a nasal spray from the manufacturers of the popular hay fever treatment, Clarityn. Clarinaze helps to ease symptoms of hay fever and is perfect for those who suffer with sneezing, a blocked or runny nose, or itching when the pollen count is high.
How will Clarinaze treat my hay fever?
Clarinaze contains the active ingredient mometasone fluorate, which was only available as a prescription medication (which you may know as Nasonex) until recently. Mometasone is a corticosteroid medication, which are sometimes known as steroids, and works by reducing inflammation on the inside of your nose. This helps to ease sneezing, itching, and a blocked or runny nose, which can all occur if you suffer with hay fever.
What happens when you have hay fever?
When you have hay fever, your body reacts when it comes into contact with pollen and produces a substance called histamine. Histamine then sends signals to different areas of your body, such as your nose and eyes, to tell them to clear the pollen from your system. This causes hay fever symptoms, such as a runny nose, itching, sneezing, coughing, and more.
