NHS prescriptions: what would you like to do?
Choosing a pharmacy decides where your electronic prescriptions go. Requesting a repeat prescription asks your GP for your next supply. These are separate actions.
Choose where future prescriptions go
You choose which pharmacy to use. To collect from our Beeston branch, check and confirm Ways Pharmacy, 24 Chilwell Road, NG9 1EJ in the NHS App.
See NHS App stepsRequest your next repeat prescription
In the NHS App, open Prescriptions → Request a repeat prescription. Check your chosen pharmacy, select the listed medicines you need and submit. Your GP must approve the request before a pharmacy can prepare it.
NHS repeat-prescription guideCollect an issued prescription
A requested or issued prescription may still be with your previous pharmacy. Changing your chosen pharmacy does not guarantee an existing prescription moves. Check where it is and whether your medicines are ready before travelling.
Call about collectionIf a medicine is missing or you cannot request it, contact your GP surgery. For urgent medicine needs, contact your GP; when it is closed, use NHS 111 online or call 111.
GP approval does not mean your medicines are ready. Check collection readiness with the pharmacy, or in the NHS App if tracking is available. Standard NHS prescription charges apply unless you are exempt.
If your GP has arranged repeat dispensing, ask the pharmacy about your agreed supply schedule. Do not make a duplicate request in the NHS App.
