Personal advice before vaccination

You may be exploring a missed vaccination, a private adult service, a child’s vaccination or travel health. Our pharmacist checks your age, previous doses, health history and the service criteria before recommending the next step.

For a child, pregnancy, a weakened immune system or a complex medical history, please speak to the team before booking. The available vaccine and appointment depend on clinical suitability and stock.

Check your NHS options

Some vaccinations are available free through the NHS depending on age, health conditions and programme eligibility. Check with your GP or the relevant NHS service before paying privately. Holborn provides private vaccination appointments.

How to arrange your vaccination

1

Choose your appointment route

Book through the Holborn online booking service or call 020 8106 7084. If you are unsure which vaccination to select, call first.

2

Complete a suitability check

Bring identification, your vaccination record if available, and a medicines list. The pharmacist reviews your health, confirms the required doses and explains the total fee.

3

Vaccination and aftercare

If suitable, receive the vaccination in the pharmacy and follow the team’s aftercare and observation advice. Any further dose appointments are arranged according to your schedule.

Before and after your appointment

Tell us before your visit

Tell the pharmacist about serious reactions to previous vaccines or ingredients, medicines affecting your immune system, pregnancy or breastfeeding, recent vaccines and any current illness. Some vaccinations may need to be delayed or arranged through another clinical service.

What to expect afterwards

A sore arm, tiredness, headache or mild fever can occur, depending on the vaccine. Most common reactions settle within a few days. Serious allergic reactions are rare. The team will explain the product-specific leaflet, observation period and when to seek help.

Travelling abroad? Plan early.

Seek travel-health advice ideally 4–6 weeks before departure. Your destination, itinerary, existing vaccinations and medical history determine what is appropriate. Holborn also provides a dedicated travel-health service, including yellow-fever enquiries.

Your questions, answered

Can I book online?

Yes. The Holborn booking link opens our Nuumad appointment service and may ask you to sign in or register. Follow the confirmation shown there. If your service is not listed or you need help, call 020 8106 7084.

When do I pay?

The current individual vaccination pages state that payment is taken at the pharmacy after suitability is checked. Confirm the full course cost and appointment arrangements with the team; a catalogue page or cart does not confirm that a vaccine has been reserved.

How many doses will I need?

This depends on the vaccine, your age, previous doses and immune status. The prices above identify single-dose and listed course options. Your pharmacist will confirm the appropriate schedule rather than asking you to decide from the price alone.

Can I have several vaccinations at one visit?

Sometimes, but timing depends on the vaccines and your circumstances. Tell the pharmacist about all recent and planned vaccinations so they can confirm what can be given together and what needs a gap.

Do you vaccinate children?

Selected services include children, with different age limits and consent requirements. Call before booking so we can confirm that the specific vaccination is suitable and available for your child. A parent or legal guardian may need to attend.

Can I use the Beeston branch?

Selected private vaccinations are offered at Beeston. Call 0115 925 5584 to confirm the service and time, or view the Nottingham vaccination page. Yellow fever is provided at Holborn only.
