Alka-Seltzer XS is a double-action, water-soluble effervescent tablet designed for rapid pain relief. It combines aspirin, paracetamol, and caffeine, along with antacid agents (sodium bicarbonate and citric acid) to help with stomach comfort.

Active Ingredients (per tablet)

• Aspirin (Acetylsalicylic Acid): 267 mg

• Paracetamol: 133 mg

• Caffeine: 40 mg

• Sodium Bicarbonate: 1,723 mg

• Citric Acid: 954 mg

• Sodium: 472 mg

Uses & Benefits

Dosage

• Dissolve 2 tablets in water every 4–6 hours as needed

• Maximum 8 tablets in 24 hours

• Do not use for more than 3 consecutive days without medical advice

• Not suitable for children under 16 unless directed by a doctor

Precautions

• Contains both aspirin and paracetamol → avoid taking other medicines with these ingredients at the same time

• Not for children/teenagers recovering from flu or chickenpox (risk of Reye’s syndrome)

• Aspirin risks: stomach irritation, heartburn, increased bleeding risk (especially age >60, history of ulcers, alcohol use, blood thinners)

• Avoid in late pregnancy or during breastfeeding unless advised by a doctor

• Possible side effects: allergic reactions, stomach bleeding, dizziness, tinnitus, nausea
