Frequently asked questions
How many Anadin Extra can I take a day?
Adults and people aged 16 and over can take 2 tablets every 4 hours, leaving at least 4 hours between doses. Do not take more than 8 tablets in 24 hours.
Can children take Anadin Extra?
No. It contains aspirin, which must not be given to anyone under 16 unless prescribed by a doctor, because of a rare but serious condition called Reye's syndrome. For children, use paracetamol or ibuprofen instead.
Can I take Anadin Extra with paracetamol?
No. Each tablet already contains paracetamol, so you must not take it with any other paracetamol-containing product. It also contains aspirin, so avoid taking it with other aspirin or NSAID products as well.
Why does Anadin Extra contain caffeine?
The caffeine is added to enhance the pain-relieving effect of the aspirin and paracetamol. Limit other caffeine drinks while taking it, and avoid a dose close to bedtime, as too much caffeine can cause restlessness or trouble sleeping.
