Description

Aspirin 75mg Dispersible Tablets are a low-dose medication primarily used as an antiplatelet agent to help prevent blood clots in individuals at high risk of heart attack or stroke. These tablets are specifically formulated to dissolve in water, providing a liquid alternative for those who find standard tablets difficult to swallow or have inflamed mouths.

Key Features and Benefits

Cardiovascular Support: Helps reduce the risk of further heart attacks or strokes in patients with a history of these conditions.
Post-Operative Care: Commonly used following heart bypass surgery or stent insertion to maintain circulation.
Easy Administration: The water-soluble formula is ideal for patients with dysphagia (difficulty swallowing).
Low-Dose Formulation: Contains 75mg of aspirin, designed for long-term daily use rather than high-intensity pain relief.
Multiple Pack Sizes: Commonly available in 28-tablet packs for short-term use and 100-tablet packs for long-term treatment.

Usage and Dosage

Adults (16+ years): The usual long-term dose is 1 to 2 tablets daily.
How to Take: Completely dissolve the tablet(s) in a glass of water before drinking.
Medical Supervision: This medication should only be started under the advice of a healthcare professional.

Important Safety Information

Age Restriction: Not suitable for children under 16 years of age unless prescribed by a doctor, due to the risk of Reye's syndrome.
Contraindications: Do not use if you have an active stomach ulcer, a history of gastrointestinal bleeding, or severe liver/kidney problems.
Common Side Effects: May cause indigestion, nausea, or an increased tendency to bleed (e.g., bruising more easily).
Pregnancy/Breastfeeding: Consult a doctor or midwife before use.
