Frequently asked questions

Is Aveeno Moisturising Cream a steroid?

No. It is a fragrance-free emollient moisturiser with colloidal oatmeal, not a steroid or a medicine. It moisturises and helps relieve dryness, so it can be used as often as needed.

How long does it moisturise for?

Aveeno Moisturising Cream is designed to help moisturise eczema-prone skin for up to 24 hours. Regular use helps prevent the dryness and irritation that dehydration can cause.

Can I use it on my face?

It can be used on any part of the body. Avoid the eye area, and if you have very sensitive facial skin, do a patch test first or ask your pharmacist for advice.

Does it cure eczema?

No. An emollient does not cure eczema; it moisturises the skin, helps relieve dryness and supports the skin barrier as part of a daily routine. If your eczema is flaring or not controlled, speak to your pharmacist or GP.

Is it suitable if I am allergic to oats?

No. This cream contains colloidal oatmeal, so do not use it if you are allergic to oats. Ask your pharmacist for an oat-free moisturiser instead.

Safety and storage

For external use only. Do not use if you are allergic to oats or any ingredient on the label.
Avoid contact with the eyes; rinse thoroughly with water if contact occurs.
If your skin reacts, stop using the cream and speak to your pharmacist.
If symptoms persist or worsen, speak to your pharmacist or GP.
Store in a cool, dry place and keep out of the sight and reach of children.
