Calpol SixPlus Sugar Free Suspension is a strawberry-flavoured paracetamol liquid for the relief of mild to moderate pain and fever in children from 6 years and adults, sold by Ways Pharmacy (UK).

Who it is for

• Children aged 6 years and over and adults with mild to moderate pain, such as headache, toothache, earache, sore throat or aches and pains
• Reducing fever, including with colds and flu and after immunisation

Not suitable for: Not for children under 6 years, anyone allergic to paracetamol or the other ingredients, or anyone already taking another paracetamol-containing medicine.

How to use

1. Read the enclosed leaflet carefully before use.
2. Shake the bottle well and measure each dose with the syringe supplied. Do not dilute.
3. Children 6-8 years: 5ml, up to 4 times in 24 hours.
4. Children 8-10 years: 7.5ml, up to 4 times in 24 hours.
5. Children 10-12 years: 10ml, up to 4 times in 24 hours.
6. Children 12-16 years: 10-15ml, up to 4 times a day. Adults and children over 16: 10-20ml, up to 4 times a day.
7. Leave at least 4 hours between doses and do not give more than 4 doses in 24 hours. Do not give to a child for more than 3 days without speaking to a doctor or pharmacist.

It is the same 250mg/5ml strength in a smaller 80ml bottle sold as a general sale (GSL) pack.

Safety and storage

• Read the PIL. Report suspected side effects through the MHRA Yellow Card scheme.
• Contains paracetamol. Do not exceed the stated dose. In case of overdose get medical help immediately, even if the person seems well, because of the risk of delayed liver damage.
• Ask a doctor or pharmacist before use if you have liver or kidney problems, drink alcohol regularly, or are pregnant or breastfeeding.
• Contains maltitol, sorbitol, propylene glycol, benzyl alcohol and parabens (E216, E218); not for people with hereditary fructose intolerance.
• Do not store above 25°C. Store in the original package.
• Keep out of the reach and sight of children.
