How to use
- Read the enclosed instructions carefully before use.
- Clean the wound and surrounding skin, for example with saline or sterile water, and dry the surrounding skin well.
- Choose a dressing that overlaps the wound edge by at least 1-2cm.
- Remove the backing film without touching the adhesive, place the dressing over the wound, then remove the protective tabs.
- Smooth the edges down with your fingers so the dressing seals.
- Change it when exudate nears the edge, when clinically needed or after 7 days at most; lift the corners gently to remove.
Frequently asked questions
How long can I leave it on?
Up to 7 days, depending on the wound. Change it sooner if exudate reaches near the edge of the dressing.
Why has the dressing turned white or milky?
The hydrocolloid absorbs fluid and forms a gel, which looks milky. This is expected.
Is the smell on removal normal?
A characteristic odour can occur when the gel is removed. It should go once the wound is cleaned.
Can I see the wound through it?
Yes. The dressing is transparent so the wound can be checked without lifting it.
Safety and storage
- Sterile and single use only. Do not use if the pouch is damaged.
- Seek medical advice if the wound shows signs of infection, does not improve, or becomes more painful.
- Dispose of used dressings with household waste; do not flush.
- Keep out of the reach and sight of children.
This is a medical device. Follow the instructions for use, and ask a nurse, doctor or pharmacist for advice on chronic or slow-healing wounds.
