Overview

Dioralyte Blackcurrant is an oral rehydration treatment that replaces water and body salts lost through diarrhoea. It treats watery diarrhoea from various causes, including gastroenteritis, in all age groups.

What's in Each Sachet

Glucose 3.56g, sodium chloride 0.47g, potassium chloride 0.30g and disodium hydrogen citrate 0.53g. It also contains blackcurrant flavour, saccharin sodium and silicon dioxide.

How to Use

• Dissolve one sachet in 200ml of water. Use fresh drinking water for adults and children over 1, and freshly boiled and cooled water for babies.
• Adults: drink 1–2 sachets after each loose stool.
• Children: drink 1 sachet after each loose stool.
• Infants under 2: use only under the guidance of a doctor.

Storage of Made-Up Solution

You can keep it in the fridge for up to 24 hours. Otherwise, throw it away 1 hour after making it up. Don't boil the solution.

Warnings

• See a doctor if the diarrhoea gets worse or doesn't improve after 24–48 hours.
• Ask a doctor first if you have kidney or liver disease or diabetes, or are on a low-potassium or low-sodium diet.
• Don't use it if you have an intestinal obstruction, or if you're allergic to any of the ingredients.
• Contains glucose and about 300mg of sodium per sachet.
