Frequently asked questions

How does Duofilm treat warts and verrucae?

It contains two active ingredients: salicylic acid acts on the surface layer of the skin to promote shedding, while lactic acid helps reduce skin thickening. Used daily over several weeks, this gradually clears the wart.

How do I apply Duofilm?

Soak and dry the area, gently file the wart, then paint Duofilm onto the wart with the applicator brush, keeping it off the surrounding skin. Let it dry, and apply once a day, usually in the evening, over several weeks.

Can people with diabetes use Duofilm?

No. Duofilm is not recommended for people with diabetes or cardiovascular disorders, or during pregnancy or breastfeeding. If any of these apply, speak to your pharmacist or GP.

Can I use Duofilm on my face?

No. Duofilm should not be applied to the face or the anogenital area, to large areas, or to warts larger than about 5cm² (roughly the size of a postage stamp).

Can children use Duofilm?

It should not be used on children under 2 years. For children aged 2 to 12, use it only when clearly needed and under medical supervision, with application fully supervised by an adult.

Safety and storage

• For external use only. Do not use on the face or anogenital area, on large areas, or if you have diabetes or cardiovascular disorders.
• If the solution contacts the eyes or mucous membranes, rinse immediately and abundantly with water and continue rinsing for at least 15 minutes.
• Keep off the surrounding healthy skin to avoid irritation.
• Keep out of the reach of children and do not use after the expiry date on the pack.
