FerroDose-G Ferrous Gluconate 300mg Tablets are a pharmacy medicine used for the prevention and treatment of iron deficiency. Each tablet provides 300mg ferrous gluconate, equivalent to approximately 35mg elemental iron. Sold under the supervision of our GPhC-registered pharmacist.

How to Use
Always follow the enclosed patient information leaflet or the directions of your doctor or pharmacist. Take the tablets with water about one hour before meals. Adults and children over 12 years: for prevention, two tablets daily; for treatment, four to six tablets daily in divided doses. Children aged 6–12 years: for prevention, one or two tablets daily; for treatment, three tablets daily in divided doses. Not recommended for children under 6 years. Do not exceed the recommended dose.
Active / Key Ingredients
Each tablet contains 300mg ferrous gluconate, equivalent to 35mg ferrous iron. Other ingredients include sodium starch glycollate, stearic acid, colloidal anhydrous silica, sucrose, talc, calcium carbonate, acacia, polyvinyl acetate phthalate, carnauba wax, white beeswax, shellac, titanium dioxide (E171) and ponceau 4R red (E124).
Warnings & Storage
- Do not take if you have iron overload, anaemia not caused by iron deficiency, regular blood transfusions or intravenous iron treatment, a stomach or small-intestine ulcer, hepatitis or alcoholism.
- Ask a doctor or pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, elderly, diabetic, have inflammatory bowel disease, a history of stomach ulcers or take other medicines.
- Separate this medicine from certain antibiotics, antacids, mineral supplements, thyroxine and bisphosphonates as directed in the leaflet.
- Tea, coffee, milk, eggs and wholegrain foods may reduce iron absorption when taken at the same time.
- Contains sucrose and ponceau 4R red (E124), which may cause allergic reactions.
- Iron overdose can be fatal in children. Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
- Store below 25°C in the original container and keep it tightly closed.
