Gout Test

Gout Test Kit – At-Home Uric Acid Test

Who Is This Test For?

This test is designed for individuals who may be experiencing symptoms of gout, a condition caused by high levels of uric acid in the blood.

The main symptom of gout is sudden, severe pain in a joint — most commonly in the big toe, but it can also affect the feet, ankles, knees, hands, wrists, or elbows.

Gout is more common in men aged 30–50, although anyone can be affected.
You may be at higher risk if you have any of the following:

• Obesity

• High alcohol intake

• High cholesterol

• High blood pressure

• Kidney problems

• Diabetes

What’s Included in the Test Kit

• Test cassette

• Blood transfer tube

• Lancet

• Developer solution

• Instructions for use

You will also need a timer (not included).

Understanding Your Results

Your uric acid level is considered high if it exceeds the following reference ranges:

• Children (under 12): 120–340 µmol/L

• Women: 140–360 µmol/L

• Men: 200–430 µmol/L

These values are general guidelines and do not establish that the kit is suitable for children. Follow the supplied instructions for the intended users and reading the test. Results should always be interpreted alongside other health factors and symptoms.

When to Seek Medical Advice

• If your test indicates high uric acid levels, consult your GP or healthcare professional for further assessment.

• If your result is negative but you continue to experience gout-like symptoms, inform your GP for additional testing or advice.

Self-tests are a useful guide but should not replace professional medical consultation. Always discuss your results, symptoms, and medical history with a qualified healthcare provider before making any diagnosis or treatment decisions.
