Who it is for
- People with sensitive skin who react to fragranced or alcohol-containing wipes
- Parents wiping a baby's face, hands or feeding area where chemical-free is essential
- Skincare users who want a soft, snag-free cotton tissue for toner, micellar water or post-treatment care
- Households swapping disposable paper tissues for a cotton alternative that holds up when wet
Not suitable for: as a wound dressing (this is a cosmetic tissue, not sterile), flushing down the toilet (cotton fibre is biodegradable but blocks plumbing), or anyone with a known cotton allergy.
How to use
- Open the pack from the resealable tab. Pull one sheet at a time.
- For dry use: gently pat or wipe the face, hands or pram tray. Discard after use.
- For damp use: dampen the sheet with water, micellar water or toner. Press onto the skin or wipe in one direction — do not scrub.
- Re-close the pack tightly to keep remaining sheets clean and dust-free.
- Dispose in general waste. The cotton fibre is biodegradable but should not be flushed.
Frequently asked questions
Is this really 100% cotton, or does it contain rayon / viscose?
According to Purcotton, the sheet is made from spunlaced raw cotton fibre with no rayon, viscose, polyester or other synthetic blend. There are no fluorescent brighteners or fragrances added during manufacture.
Can I use it on a newborn's skin?
Yes. Purcotton tissues are widely used in Chinese maternity wards and at home for newborn face and bottom cleaning because there is no fragrance, alcohol or synthetic fibre. Use water or a baby-safe wash to dampen the sheet.
Can I use it instead of cotton pads for makeup removal?
Yes. The 200 × 200 mm size is larger than a typical cotton pad, so one sheet covers the whole face. Dampen with micellar water or cleansing oil and wipe gently — the cotton holds together without shedding fibres.
Is it flushable?
No. Although the cotton is biodegradable, the fibre does not break down quickly enough in water and can block drains. Dispose of used sheets in general waste.
How is this different from regular paper tissue?
Paper tissue is made from wood pulp and tears when wet. Purcotton tissue is woven from cotton fibre and stays strong when damp, which is why it is suitable for cleansing, makeup removal and baby care rather than just nose-blowing.
How should I store the pack once opened?
Keep the resealable tab closed between uses and store at room temperature away from direct sunlight. The cotton itself does not expire but the pack should be kept clean and dry.
Safety & storage
- For external skin and household use only.
- Do not flush — dispose in general waste.
- Store at room temperature, in a dry place, away from direct sunlight.
- Keep out of reach of very young children (loose sheets can be a smothering hazard).
