Senokot Max Strength Tablets Adult are senna tablets for the short-term relief of occasional constipation in adults aged 18 and over. Each tablet provides 15mg of hydroxyanthracene glycosides, calculated as sennoside B, and one tablet taken at night usually works within 8 to 12 hours. Pack of 10, sold by Ways Pharmacy (UK).

Who it is for
- Adults aged 18 and over who need short-term relief from occasional constipation.
- People who want a laxative taken at bedtime that acts overnight rather than during the day.
Not suitable for: Anyone under 18 years; anyone allergic to any of the ingredients; anyone who is pregnant or breastfeeding; a blocked bowel or intestinal obstruction; inflammatory conditions of the colon such as Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis; appendicitis or undiagnosed abdominal pain; severe dehydration. It contains lactose, so it is not suitable if you have galactose intolerance, total lactase deficiency or glucose-galactose malabsorption. Speak to your doctor first if you have a kidney or heart condition, or if you find you need a laxative every day.
How to use
- Read the label and Patient Information Leaflet (PIL) before use. For oral use only.
- Adults and the elderly aged 18 and over: swallow one tablet at night.
- Do not take more than one tablet in any 24-hour period.
- It usually works within 8 to 12 hours, so a bedtime dose normally acts the following morning.
- Do not use it for more than 1 week. Taking it two to three times during that week is usually enough.
- If there is no bowel movement after 3 days, or if you have persistent abdominal pain or are passing blood, see your doctor.

Safety and storage
- Do not take it daily or for long periods without medical advice. See your doctor if you need a laxative every day, or if your bowel habits change.
- Stop taking it and see your doctor if you have persistent abdominal pain, are passing blood, or there is no bowel movement after 3 days.
- Do not store above 30°C. Store in the original package and do not use after the expiry date shown on the pack.
- Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
