EROPID Sildenafil 50mg Tablets (Pharmacy Medicine) – 4 Tablets
EROPID contains sildenafil 50mg and is licensed as a pharmacy (P) medicine for erectile dysfunction in men aged 18 and over. It does not need a prescription, but Ways Pharmacy sells it only after you have answered the pharmacist's questions and the pharmacist has confirmed it is suitable for you.
How to buy
- Add the pack to your basket and check out.
- Answer a short set of health questions so the pharmacist can check the medicine is suitable for you. The pharmacist may phone you if anything needs checking.
- If suitable, orders approved by 3pm on a weekday are posted the same day (see our shipping policy), or you can collect from our Holborn pharmacy. If it is not suitable, you receive a full refund.
If a pharmacy medicine is not right for you, the pharmacist may discuss prescription-only options instead, such as sildenafil supplied after a pharmacist consultation. See our erectile dysfunction treatment page for all options.

Warnings and who should not take it
- Not for women or anyone under 18.
- Do not take with nitrates (for example GTN spray for angina), nitric oxide donors such as amyl nitrite ("poppers"), or riociguat — the combination can cause a dangerous fall in blood pressure.
- Not suitable if you take ritonavir for HIV, or already use another erectile dysfunction treatment.
- Not suitable if a doctor has advised you to avoid sexual activity because of your heart, or if you have severe heart or liver problems, have had a heart attack or stroke recently, or have low blood pressure.
- Not suitable if you have ever had severe sight loss, including from reduced blood flow to the optic nerve (NAION), or have a rare inherited eye disease such as retinitis pigmentosa.
- Speak to the pharmacist first if you get chest pain or breathlessness on light or moderate activity, have uncontrolled high blood pressure, an irregular heartbeat, a penile deformity, a stomach ulcer or bleeding disorder, mild to moderate liver problems or severe kidney problems, or have had an erection lasting more than 4 hours.
- Tell the pharmacist about all your medicines, especially alpha-blockers, and some antifungal, antibiotic or HIV medicines.
How to use
- Read the Patient Information Leaflet in the pack.
- Take one 50mg tablet whole with water about 1 hour before sexual activity.
- Do not take more than one tablet in 24 hours.
- Sexual stimulation is needed for the medicine to work. A heavy meal may delay the effect.
Possible side effects
Common side effects include headache, flushing, indigestion, a blocked nose, dizziness and changes in vision such as a blue tinge. Get urgent medical help if an erection lasts more than 4 hours, or if you have sudden loss of vision or hearing, or chest pain during or after sex.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a prescription?
No. EROPID is a pharmacy (P) medicine, so no prescription is needed. It is supplied only after the pharmacist has checked your answers and confirmed it is suitable.
How is it different from Viagra Connect?
Both contain sildenafil 50mg and are licensed as pharmacy medicines for men aged 18 and over. The dose and the people who should not take them are the same; the brand and packaging differ.
When does it start to work?
Usually within 30 to 60 minutes. You can take it up to about 4 hours before sexual activity.
What if it does not work?
Do not take a second tablet in the same 24 hours. It may take a few attempts to work well. If it still does not help, speak to the pharmacist or your GP.
