How much guaifenesin is in Benylin Mucus Cough Max?

Each 5ml contains 100mg of guaifenesin (20mg per ml). A two-spoonful (10ml) dose therefore provides 200mg of guaifenesin.

Adults and adolescents aged 12 and over take two 5ml spoonfuls up to 4 times a day. Do not take more than 4 doses in 24 hours, and do not exceed the stated dose.

How is Mucus Cough Max different from the non-drowsy Chesty Coughs syrup?

Both are guaifenesin expectorant syrups for chesty coughs and neither causes drowsiness. Mucus Cough Max is a maximum-strength menthol formula at 100mg guaifenesin per 5ml. Follow the dosing for the specific product you are using.
