Frequently asked questions

How does Otex Express remove earwax?

The urea hydrogen peroxide releases oxygen inside the ear, which helps break down and soften hardened wax so it can disperse, reducing the need for syringing.

How long does it take to clear earwax?

It is usually used once or twice a day for about 3 to 4 days. If the wax has not cleared or your hearing has not improved, stop and ask your pharmacist, nurse or doctor.

Can I use Otex Express if I have a perforated eardrum?

No. Do not use it if you have or suspect a perforated eardrum, grommets, an ear infection, discharge, dizziness or pain. Check with a healthcare professional first if you are unsure.

Is some fizzing or bubbling normal?

A mild bubbling or fizzing sensation can occur as oxygen is released, which is expected. If you get pain, significant irritation or dizziness, stop using it and seek advice.

How long can I keep the bottle after opening?

Discard the bottle 4 weeks after first opening, store it upright below 25°C, and do not use after the date shown on the carton.
