Teva Cetirizine 10mg Hay Fever Allergy Relief 30 Tablets

Teva Cetirizine 10mg tablets are an antihistamine for nasal and eye symptoms of hay fever and other allergic rhinitis, and for hives. The pack contains 30 film-coated tablets, each with cetirizine dihydrochloride 10mg.

Who it is for and how to use

• Adults and adolescents over 12: one tablet (10mg) once daily. Children aged 6–12: half a tablet (5mg) twice daily. Swallow with water.
• This tablet formulation is not suitable below age 6. Kidney problems may require a different dose: ask your doctor or pharmacist rather than adjusting it yourself.
• Follow the supplied leaflet; do not exceed the dose. Seek advice if symptoms persist or worsen.

Warnings and precautions

• Do not take if allergic to cetirizine, hydroxyzine, related piperazine medicines or any ingredient. Do not use with end-stage kidney disease unless your specialist advises an appropriate alternative.
• Discuss epilepsy, seizure risk, difficulty passing urine, pregnancy, breastfeeding and other medicines with a pharmacist before use.
• Contains lactose. Check with a doctor if you have been told you have a sugar intolerance. Antihistamines affect allergy skin tests: tell the clinic before testing.

Possible side effects and storage

Although cetirizine is less sedating than some antihistamines, it can cause sleepiness, tiredness, dizziness, headache or dry mouth. Do not drive or use machinery if affected, and avoid alcohol if it makes you drowsy. Seek urgent help for breathing difficulty or face/throat swelling. Keep out of children’s sight and reach, in the original pack, and do not use after expiry.
